Spare outboard motor on ladder mounting

Attaching a spare engine to a motorboat is a good headache. There is no place for that, and when you make it, the attachment points will most of the time look empty and ugly. So it seemed most natural to attach a small outboard to the ladder hinge bolts. This requires a small piece of a wide (approx. 200x200x50 mm) plank and two metal plates. The bottom edge of the plate rests against the boat, like a ladder, and the top edge is slightly higher so that the engine mounts can be tightened. To prevent the engine from turning up, a small support must be placed against the boat under the engine mounting bolts. Like the stern of a boat, the plate is tilted 15 degrees backwards. The metal plates are attached to the table with four 4.5x50 screws  and two 6x120 screws. The latter are slightly diagonally overlapped and the idea is to prevent the plate from breaking in half lengthwise.

If you want the ladder to go over the plate into the water, the plate must be installed inside the brackets (pictured). However, the inside of one mount and the outside of the other are more comfortable, so the ladder bolts do not have to be unscrewed to install the plate, and you can simply unscrew the butterfly nuts on top of the bolts. There are, of course, a lot of measurements so that the engine foot still reaches the water, the plate is at the right angle, the side plates are exactly opposite the ladder, and the engine mount fits between or above the plate and the boat.

In this case, it is worth tying a safety rope to the engine just in case. At least the engine won't go down if the mounting is too weak.
