Fastening your self made construction with cable ties seems undeserved luxury. Every item could and should be fastened with special design shiny fastening bracket.  Unfortunately there are some arguments for cable tie. Fast to use. It is light. No need to drill holes. Not prone for corrosion. Cheap to cut and reposition if needed. So, we fastened hydraulic hoses, bendable only by two men full strength with appropriate cable ties. For beam 10x10 cm there is 60 cm long and for 80 kg load cable tie just right. Under the car some beams are 30 cm high, but fortunately there is also available 90 cm cable tie.

Cable tie is good emergency repair tool also. When on motorcycle journey there was a need to fix broken mirror it took just some minutes for repair. Only three 4.8 mm wide cable ties hold mirror problem-free even at German highway speeds. Toyota 20 keys methodology defines that you on lowest level of work organizations if even your desk computer cables are not tied together. So, this is not shame to use cable ties!
